Kit and supplies
In addition to the supplies that come in the kit, you will want a hot glue gun and silicone mat. I used the silicone mat when I use hot glue. It makes the project a lot less messy.
time saver tips
I did make some changes that helped me out with my class. Here is a listing of what I did to prepare and the order of putting this fabulous hat together.
Steps taken BEFORE class.
- Put wire around hat and hot glue in place.
- Stuff hat with tissue or wrapping paper – this helps hold shape.
- Keep the cardboard backing from kit to use as paint pallet.
- Punch all pieces out that customer will be painting with the dauber.
Class Participants
- Apply ink on all pieces.
- Wrap gauze around hat and tie knot – no need to hot glue.
- Hot Glue all pieces.
- Hot Glue Hat Pins in place instead of trying to pierce hat or paper with it.
- Final touches using dimensionals with stars on the wires.
- Of course, have fun and feel free to add other embellishments or dies.
