Twelve years ago. That seems like a lifetime and then it seems like yesterday. It is not the story I would have chosen but it chose me. I have the Peace and Joy that comes from Jesus Christ. 12 years ago, you left us for a bigger world with Our Lord. I will always love you. Stephen, You were a man and although not perfect, you chose your story by doing what was good, what was right and what was faithful and true- Your story was in Jesus. Count it all JOY….James 1:2
Abbey, Will & now Jessie, and I miss you more and more each passing day. So much has changed and continues to change with our family, but we know that you would be proud of each of us. Your mom joined you in heaven this last year. Oh, how we miss you both.
We look to the Lord Jesus Christ as we struggle through our thoughts and feelings and try to articulate what an amazing man you were on this earth.
The Lord brought Stephen to Heaven because his work on earth was done. We may never know the full magnitude of Stephen’s life – it may be to help others or possibly future generations of his family. Just like in Genesis when Abraham heard God’s calling to move, The life of his great grandson Joseph, was forever changed.
This is a picture taken at the Masters. Cameras were outlawed and well before smart phones and of course Stephen took in a disposable camera. This photo was one of those priceless photos and one of my favorites. Stephen’s selfie with Tiger Woods! Doesn’t that little smirk just say volumes!
How lucky Abigail and William are to have had a father so special that they miss you so much? and as much as I hate not having you around, I am overjoyed that you are at Peace and your body is whole and I am jealous that you are dancing at the feet of Jesus! We will be together again and our family will be whole.
