Notes From Patience

Memorial Day was very quiet around my home this year.  It was rainy and overcast, so I decided to create my 4th of July cards.  Every year, we have had a small cook out and fireworks with friends.  I have never had formal invites because it usually comes together at the last minute.  This year, I plan to send cards out.  What do you think? I recently celebrated my birthday and I loved the cards that I received from my friends.  When I was invited to a surprise birthday party for a friend, I decided to make her card from my stamps that I am so lucky to be able to have and use every day.  I love creating these "Happy" things for others.  It was Kim's 50th birthday and she was surprised!  I used Melon Mambo card stock for the base, Pop of Pink Designer Series paper as the background.  Love the new stamp set "Pineapple"  I created the difference colors by actually stamping the base of the pineapple in Rose Red, Melon Mambo, and Cherry Cobbler. I cut several different parts of the base of the pineapple from different colors and clued them to a Rose Red Pineapple.  Using glue dots, it gave a layered look.  Same effect with the top of the pineapple using Wild Wasabi and Old Olive inks. Thursday, May 12th.  Milestone birthday for me.  I was a little apprehensive about my birthday this year.  Where I am in my life is not what I had envisioned for myself and my family.  I know that God has a plan for me but that doesn't mean that I like that plan - ??  Anyway, my friend and upline, Kay, insisted we do something to mark the occasion - Milestone at Coldstone!  We took over one corner of the place.  Fun was had with cake and Ice cream too.  Thank you so much to my friends! I want to thank the girls from coming out tonight. We had fun talking and stamping.  We were able to make 15 cards to send out to some of the homebound members of Immanuel Baptist Church. I hope you can join us for the next time we have this class.  So Easy and simple.  Maybe we will brighten someone's day with the notes. Diane works on her artwork! Jana was all smiles as she was writing her notes! Dee Ann is also hard at work writing words of encouragement.

I have been so busy working on classes that I did not get my mom's card in the mail.  I plan to take her to dinner this Sunday along with my younger brother and his family.  Here is a picture of my card that I made for her and a picture of my mom and me.  I hope you like my card. New Class is forming now for the Feel Good & GIVE for May 10th. The whole idea is to get together with people and share what you love AND then - GIVE. Give some of the cards that you make to someone who needs the encouragement.  This could be the homebound members of your church, hospitalized people, family members going through their own turmoil, No matter who you send them too - GIVE.   I want us to givers of a smile, givers of good feelings but most of all, Givers of Love. This is a DROP IN Style Class.   I have 2 objectives for this class.  1. Have Fun and Enjoy yourself.  2. GIVE.
